Large room in an excellent location downtown Chicago! Steps from hopping, restaurants and lakefront. Very helpful staff and the concierge gave excellent insights to local pots for breakfast.
I had a wonderful stay at The Drake. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city—making it easy to explore nearby attractions. The building itself has a historic charm, yet everything is meticulously maintained. My room was spacious, comfortable, and felt very inviting. I went to see The Phantom of the Opera, and getting to and from the theater via Lyft was very convenient. Breakfast at the hotel café was delightful and felt very homey. I especially appreciated that they offered coffee to go—it was such a thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend The Drake to anyone visiting Chicago!
the doorman was awesome. He was always in a good mood and smiling and offering to help take pictures, etc. Also the bartenders were great in the onsite lounge / restaurant. The staff in general were very nice and helpful. Location was great and convenient to many sites, attractions and activities in the downtown area, and our room had a fantastic view of the lake and the little lighted gazebo across the street which we definitely enjoyed.

The Drake is a classic hotel. The rooms are large, the hallways are large, it has an excellent location, and the mattresses are very comfortable. This time I tried room service. For $20 I had the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. If you are looking for a "Chic avant-garde" hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a classic hotel, with large rooms, elegance, etc. then you have found a great place. This was my second time, and I will go back.
